Rav Yitzchok Knobel – Rosh Kollel
Rabbi Yitzchok Knobel, Rosh Kollel, has a unique depth and breadth to his Torah experience and scholarship. While many benefit from one stream of learning, Rabbi Knobel was privileged to study with many of the great gaonim of the previous generation. He was a student of the Lithuanian Torah giants who taught half a century ago at the Rabbi Jacob Joseph Yeshiva and was a close Talmid of the Roshei Yeshiva of Philadelphia, HaRav Elya Svei, z’tl and HaRav Shmuel Kaminetsky. In 1962, Rabbi Knobel entered the Lakewood Yeshiva, where he was privileged to study for a short time under Moreinu Rav Aharon Kotler, z’tl and subsequently for twelve years under the guidance of HaGaon Rav Shneuer Kotler, z’tl and the Mashgiach, Rav Noson Wachtfogel, z’tl. In 1967, Rabbi Knobel married the granddaughter of Moreinu HaRav Yaakov Kaminetzky, z’tl, and began a close relationship with Rav Yaakov which lasted for seventeen years. For decades, Rav Knobel has shared with his talmidim his experiences and Torah from this unique Torah source. In addition, Rav Knobel forged a warm kesher with Moreinu HaRav Avraham Pam, z’tl for several decades, from whom he received his ordination. The unique breadth of his Torah experience and the mentoring he received over the decades makes Rabbi Knobel’s Torah and Mussar particularly appealing and inspiring to his students and community at large.
